Urban Noir captures the essence of modern women navigating a world still influenced by entrenched misogynistic perspectives. The series portrays a femme fatale figure styled with 60s-inspired glamour, blending vintage elegance with themes of empowerment and resilience.
This is the first ever editorial project I have produced since I started working as a professional photographer. It makes me feel alive to be able to take the helm on a creative project that I am passionate about. Since my days as a fashion student, my work has always leaned toward themes of rebellion and women. These ideas come from the environment I grew up in and the ways it shaped me. There was and still is a lot of anger for the limitations and restrictions because of my gender. and this project. Urban Noir is the evolution of that anger and rebellion, expressed in a more polished and elegant way.

This particular photo got me my first PhotoVogue feature after 4 years of my last feature. It was a touching and empowering moment for me. Honestly, I really needed that kind of validation because I was feeling pretty burned out at the time. Unfortunately, trying to make it in a creative field is not easy🥲
Here are some of my favorite photos that were not selected to be featured on PhotoVogue:

The image above really stood out to me. “It’s a violent world” is such a powerful phrase that cuts through the beauty and reminds us of the harsh reality underneath it all.
