“Life Al Dente!” at PDF FW26

I’m going to start this by saying that PDF’s FW26 show exceeded my expectations. From the dress code to the crowd energy, all the way to the wafting weed smell filling the space, every element of the show clicked together perfectly. The cast includes influential figures such as Sfera Ebbasta, Shiva, and Tony Boy, which only amplified the intensity and presence of the show.

The show opens with a narrator speaking about family, which is the central theme of the show. The narration carries a strong sense of nostalgia, paired with a touch of elder wisdom. One line before the first act stuck with me, something along the lines of “making pasta is simple, but it can go from just right to horribly wrong.” The scene then opens with a spotlight on a suitcase containing a secret recipe, which later becomes the object everyone is fighting over. Then enters first character, who sits on a dinner table and one by one the characters starts coming in and they were all having a good time bonding over dinner, until the suitcase is missing and everyone started fighting with each other.

At this point, I want to invite everyone reading to pause and really take in the scenes. The lighting design is absolutely gorgeous, and the actors’ gestures are deeply dramatic. Together, they create compositions that feel almost like Renaissance paintings. That is very much the direction I leaned into during post-production, letting those references guide how I processed the images.

The curtain then closes, and act two begins in a strip club. As it opens again, a pole dancer slides down the pole in a seductive, glamorous way while the characters lose themselves in the moment, drinking, smoking, and making it rain. The party is in full swing until chaos hits. A group of characters storms in abruptly with fake guns, bringing the scene to a sudden and violent halt.

Act three opens in a casino. The light slowly grow brighter, revealing a dealer seated at the center of a poker table under a spotlight. The first character then enters, taking a seat directly opposite the dealer, his figure beautifully backlit by the light. Gradually, the rest of the characters join in, gambling around the table. Meanwhile, on the other side of the stage, a shady figure sneaks his way to the safe and stole the suitcase away.

Do you see the pattern of the storyline so far? It’s good time for one second and shitstorm on the next. Everyone was fighting over the suitcase, and the narrator said “why can’t everybody just share?”. Easy to say, right. I’d agree, maybe you would too, but human nature doesn’t work like that, greed lives in all of us.

The act before the final one opens in what seem to be a community center. The characters group together in the middle, playing foosball. To the right side of the stage, one figure immediately stands out. He’s dressed head to toe in a lime green camo biker look, sitting on a motorbike wrapped in the same pattern. The bike isn’t just there for drama. It is part of PDF’s collaboration with RefrigiWear and the VR46 Racing Team, where a camo-covered Ducati appears as an extension of the collection itself.

Everyone is having a good time until a character slams a duffel bag full of cash onto the foosball table and suddenly everyone is making it rain.

The final act opens with a song by Sarah Toscano. Spotlights from two opposite directions light the stage beautifully, creating almost a heart-shaped reflection on the stage. In the middle of the stage, a man sits on a bench facing away from the audience. As Sarah finishes the song, she sits down next to him and the curtains close. The show ends with all the cast lining up along the stage, and the final runway begins as the models walk off one by one.

This is the kind of show I tell my friends, “You have to be there.” Being in that space made me feel part of a community, a family, and leaving with that feeling was incredible. I can’t wait to see what PDF brings next to the fashion world!

After MFW SS26: What Worked, What Didn’t, and Why

SS26 marked my second season shooting runways and backstage during Milan Fashion Week. The schedule was packed, and so was mine. I covered 15 shows in total, thanks to HYGY Magazine for bringing me along this season. But looking back now, I have to ask myself: was it all worth it? The constant running between…

Kasai SS26

In September 2025, Kasai presented their SS26 collection at Major Virtual Tunnel. The show was intimate, just 12 looks, but every detail landed with intention. The soundtrack set the tone immediately. The electric guitar led the melody, steady and controlled, not aggressive. The opening look said everything. An oversized black tailored suit, finished with a…

Phan Dang Hoang SS26

Phan Dang Hoang’s SS26 collection feels like a celebration of Vietnam. This collection showcases traditional craftsmanship, painting, and landscape in a modern and elevated way. What really stood out to me was the material choice and the way it was treated. Silk, leather, velvet, and linen were layered and worked in a way that look…
