This one is going to be short. Very short. This season I only had time to shoot street style outside Diesel’s show. Plus, there was one moment at Calcaterra that I’ll talk about later, because that deserves its own spotlight.
Let’s start with Diesel. It was drizzling, the pavement was wet, and obviously the place was crowded as fuck. Still, the whole environment had this gritty urban vibe that worked surprisingly well for street style shots. I decided to use flash even though there was still some daylight. It felt right for the mood I wanted and, honestly, it paid off. The harsh flash lit the subjects beautifully while the background dropped into a darker, moodier space. It calmed down the messy, chaotic city backdrop and made everything feel more intentional.

One of my favourite photos from the day happened by complete accident. The subject was posing, someone walked into the frame with a cigarette, and right on cue an Esselunga truck rolled past behind them. The yellow from the truck pops so nicely, and the red stripe on it ties perfectly with the subject’s sunglasses. A happy accident at its finest.

Now about that Calcaterra moment I mentioned earlier. Most of the day was rushed and I didn’t take many photos, but at Calcaterra I ran into someone unforgettable. I met this woman from Malta, Makenda, and she had this insane presence that just pulled people in. I took only one photo of her, but that one shot is strong enough to end this post on. Sometimes it’s not about quantity. Sometimes one person just has the vibe.
Here she is:
